Hotel Cafe Royal
68 Regent StreetW1B4DY London, United Kingdom
Hotel Café Royal enjoys one of London’s most distinguished addresses, where architectural elegance meets contemporary cool on Regent Street. Commissioned by the Prince Regent, later George
IV, and designed by John Nash in 1811, Regent Street remains one of the capital’s most celebrated
boulevards.
From our front door, the refined exclusivity of Mayfair, the buzz of Soho, the liveliness of Covent Garden, and the tranquillity of Green Park are just steps away, alongside a wealth of galleries, theatres, and couture houses.
There is no finer setting in London to experience the very best the city has to offer, with access to moments and events found nowhere else. Hotel Café Royal is where truly remarkable memories are made.
Regent Street, designed by John Nash and completed in 1825, was commissioned by the Prince
Regent (later George IV) as a grand thoroughfare linking Marylebone with Carlton House. Its neoclassical design and Portland stone façades still embody Regency elegance today.
Café Royal opened in 1865 and swiftly became a gathering place for London’s artists, aristocrats and
intellectuals. Its Grade II-listed rooms from the 19th and early 20th centuries have since been meticulously restored, blending period grandeur with modern sophistication.
Conceived by Sir David Chipperfield, Hotel Café Royal is home to 159 rooms and suites where heritage
meets contemporary elegance. Interiors are finished in rusticated Portland stone or rich English fumed oak, creating a calm, understated luxury that reflects the building’s historic character.
The Pompadour Suite, one of London’s most exquisite banqueting halls, hosts up to 250 guests beneath glittering chandeliers. The historic Café Royal Grill, adorned with rococo ceilings and mirrored walls, offers a striking setting for afternoon tea or private celebrations. Guests may also choose to elevate their occasion with bespoke menus from two-Michelinstarred chef Alex Dilling, creating a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Reborn in 2012 as Hotel Café Royal, the property continues to honour its storied legacy while redefining
the art of modern luxury.
